In the morning, your body is in a natural cycle of elimination. To assist this process you can do the following:
1. Scrape the tongue first thing (the tongue is an organ of elimination and if you don’t do this first thing, you ingest the toxins back into your body all over again)
2. Drink a tall glass of room temperature water (if you pour it from up high, it actually collects prana = life force, qi)
3. Do a neti cleansing (which clears out the mucus in your sinuses and also balances your active/passive sides)
4. Eat a light breakfast, or no breakfast (eating a heavy breakfast is not advisable for any of us…
The largest meal of the day should be eaten mid-day). Then, do a practice that helps align your body/breath (=energy, speech) and mind.
Start with one thing, then add another after some time…It will become just like brushing your teeth, and after a while you won’t want to ‘not’ do these things, once you have the routine down!
