A woman’s monthly cycle

IMG_2698I love this analogy that my teacher shared with me, regarding a woman’s monthly cycle. It is like we first prepare for a permanent houseguest, and when they don’t come, we have to put it all away again! And this happens over and over for years and years, which is quite taxing! With this in mind, we should take extra steps before and during our cycles to rest, eat well, drink warm liquids and do whatever we can to eliminate what is not absolutely necessary from our daily schedule. In a perfect world, we would be given some days off to retreat, reflect and take care of ourselves. Since this society does not work by those standards, we have to do what we can on our own. This analogy made me smile at the whole ‘production’…:)
