Be mindful of what you engage in before going to bed at night. Look for things that are calming to you; take a bath, meditate, recite mantra…read something soothing. Avoid anything that stirs up your emotions, or is agitating one way or another.
We have so much stimulation coming at us these days, and more than we can digest on a daily basis. We need to look for ways to guard our time and sanity. Our evening rituals should be getting us ready for rest. There is something to be said for turning off all electronics and just being in the quiet space. It also makes it seem like you have ‘more’ time on your hands when you do. Try it. You can even ‘hear’ yourself think, which gives you a chance to reflect on your life and the direction you are heading…
Also, it is best to avoid eating something about 2-3 hours before going to bed. Eating late at night is one of the main causes of reflux problems.
Take care and be well!
