Nagarjuna’s Chatuskoti

Screen Shot 2013-03-23 at 6.56.49 AMI was contemplating, while doing my yoga this morning — turning this way and that; looking at my room in all directions, right side up, and upside down — that everything we perceive is dependent on our very own perspective.

If we are in good spirits and our body is feeling alright, we have a different experience then if we are struggling in whatever way.

The world has not changed, but our mental state totally colors what we ‘see’ as we ‘look out’ from our seemingly ‘central’ position…

Nagarjuna’s Chatuskoti states so beautifully:

It is not this. It is not that. It is not both. It is not neither.
