Meditation is crucial on the path to awakening…

Screen Shot 2012-11-13 at 6.50.43 PMBuddhism is not a religion or a philosophy. It is a path that can lead us to Enlightenment.

The reason it can lead us to Enlightenment (Awakening) is because we all have Buddha Nature/Buddha Essence inside of each and every one of us.

It is a matter of removing what is obscuring that innate perfection that we already are.

We have wrong views and afflicted emotions that stand in the way of us perceiving reality ‘as it is’ and all we need to do is find a way to settle our minds.

Meditation is crucial on this path.

Without first settling our minds, so that we can begin to ‘see’ what to discard and what to adopt, there is no progress on the path. Some persons may be so agitated that running or walking is where they have to start.

There are 84,000 ways to meditate (which is symbolic for a whole lot) and three gates to enter through: the body gate, the speech (breath/energy) gate or the mind gate.

If you have not found a way that works for you yet, don’t despair. There is one for you, but you may need the assistance of someone knowledgeable to help guide you to something that will work for you.
