Everything we see, hear, smell, touch and taste has to be ‘digested’ – or it gets stored as stress in our bodies.
So, since we are living in a society that bombards us with stimulation every day, it is up to us to limit the kinds of things we allow into our bodies and minds every day.
Take an ‘inventory’ and become mindful of the impact that everything in our environment has on us. From the people we surround ourselves with, to the kinds of things we watch on TV, the music we listen to, the news we watch or the books and magazines we read.
In doing this, we may find that we want to eliminate things to allow more quiet and space into our world. We may even find that we wish to change our work situation and go in a totally new direction.
But…we cannot change things overnight. We need to be kind to ourselves in this process, and take one step at a time…
